# Your profile picture

> Upload a photo or pick a drawn avatar once, and it becomes how you are shown everywhere in the workspace.

Ownership is the question you ask a list fastest: whose client is this, whose project, who is chasing this candidate. A name in a column answers it slowly. A face answers it before you have finished reading the row.

A picture per person also makes a team list look like a team. It is a small thing, and it is the difference between a workspace that feels staffed and one that feels like a spreadsheet.

## Set your picture

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Settings → Profile">
    The **Photo** card is the first thing on the page.

    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload a photo, or pick a drawn avatar">
    **Upload** takes an image file from your computer. If you would rather not use a photo, pick one of the drawn avatars underneath — **Show more** brings up a fresh set until one fits. Either choice becomes your picture immediately, everywhere.

    **Remove** takes your picture away again. You are then shown as your initials on a quiet colour, which stays the same colour for you everywhere.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  If you signed in with a work account that already carries a profile picture, Yena uses that picture from the start. It is only ever a starting point: the moment you upload one or pick an avatar, your choice stands and is never overwritten.
</Note>

## Where it shows

* **Owner columns** — on companies, projects and candidates.
* **Owner and assignment pickers** — you pick a colleague by face, not by reading a dropdown.
* **The team list** in Tenant Admin.
* **The sidebar**, next to your name.

<Frame caption="The owner column on a project list">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/yena/vx8MQOc-wLCk8fHg/images/screenshots/owner-avatars-column.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=vx8MQOc-wLCk8fHg&q=85&s=e61af746b891d683a7bb8497d91701aa" alt="Owner column showing profile pictures" width="367" height="536" data-path="images/screenshots/owner-avatars-column.png" />
</Frame>

<Tip>
  Ask everyone to do this in their first week. The value is in the whole team having one — a list where three people out of five are initials is no faster to read than a list of names.
