# Reactivating silver medalists

> The candidates who almost won the last mandate are the fastest fill for the next one — a journey through Lists, Smart Match, and the pipeline.

Every finished search leaves behind strong candidates who lost on timing, not quality. This journey turns them into your fastest placements.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Bank them while the search closes — in the job's Pipeline">
    When a mandate reaches **Hired**, don't let the runners-up evaporate. Add the last two or three to a list ("Silver medalists · Servicetechniker") before you archive your head. Their records keep everything: the calls, the notes, the client feedback from the portal.
  </Step>

  <Step title="New mandate arrives — start in Smart Match, not sourcing">
    On the new job, open **Matching** before SourcerPro. Smart Match reads the role's criteria and runs your whole pool — including every banked medalist — with industry-fit checks and a shareable rationale.

    </Frame>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the list directly — in the Pipeline's pool">
    The pool's **Lists** tab puts your curated groups one click from the pipeline. Drag anyone still relevant straight onto **Screening** — you've already spoken to them once, so they usually skip the cold stages.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Re-approach warm — from the candidate record">
    The **Conversations** and **Notes** tabs on the [candidate record](/en/pipeline/candidate-records) hold the last conversation. Reference it: "You were our number two for the Frankfurt role in March" is a very different message from a cold InMail.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Present faster — in the Portal">
    Medalists come pre-vetted, so they can reach the [client portal](/en/portal/sharing-a-shortlist) in the first batch, sometimes the same day the mandate lands. That speed is the story the client remembers.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  The compounding effect is the point: every Sourcer run you [import](/en/sourcer/from-sourcer-to-ats) grows the pool that Smart Match searches next time. A year in, your own database answers first.
