# The candidate status link

> Every applicant gets a private link showing where their application stands — fewer 'any news?' emails, a better candidate experience.

The most common candidate complaint in recruiting is silence. Yena answers it automatically: every confirmed applicant receives a private status link in their confirmation email and can check where they stand at any moment — no login, no account.

## What candidates see

<Frame caption="The status page: a four-step rail from Applied to Decision, no login required">
  <img src="https://mintcdn.com/yena/KYoddSHDAKpppHdf/images/screenshots/career-application-status.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=KYoddSHDAKpppHdf&q=85&s=cae88501bbfa90c61bafc754f52ea665" alt="Application status page showing the job, applied date, and a progress rail with Applied active" width="590" height="300" data-path="images/screenshots/career-application-status.png" />
</Frame>

The page shows the role, the company, the applied date, the last update, and a four-step rail: **Applied → Reviewing → Interview → Decision**.

The steps are deliberately friendly and generic:

* Your internal stage names are never shown. Whatever your pipeline calls a stage, the candidate sees one of the four steps.
* A rejected application reads as a neutral "the team has made a decision" — the word *rejected* never appears on the page.
* Any stage the page cannot map shows as *Reviewing*, so the rail never leaks internal structure.

## What you control

Nothing extra — the page reflects your pipeline automatically. Move an applicant on the board, and their status page shows the new step on their next visit.

<Note>
  The link is private to the applicant and safe by design: it works only with the exact secret address from their email, an invalid or mangled link shows a generic error page, and the raw link is never stored on our side — only a cryptographic fingerprint of it.
</Note>

Almost nobody in the market offers applicants this transparency. For an agency, it is a visible quality signal that costs you nothing.
